Carl Horowitz's article in your latest issue ("Immigration and the ‘Culture War'" - The Social Contract, Vol. XII, No. 2, Winter 2001-2002) articulated a welcome rebuttal to those who romanticize Third World immigrants. He might have used additional sources to develop and enrich his case. Further, why should millions of such "high moral character" be attracted by an alienated and decadent society? Or have flagrantly violated our immigration laws?

Similarly, rather than simply deny the existence of an open borders decontructionist "fifth column," Horowitz could have strengthened his analysis by considering the relationship between immigration-driven demographic change and the New Left originated agenda for a "brown revolution." Some useful sources on this linkage include Brent Nelson's American Balkanized, Alvin Schmidt's The Menace of Multiculturalism, Joseph Fallon's Deconstructing America, Richard Ellis's The Dark Side of the Left, and Pat Buchanan's The Death of the West.

After exposing himself to such literature, Professor Horowitz would better grasp why what Sam Francis calls the "Treason Party" is very much alive and regards open borders as essential to the final transformation of fast-eroding traditional American institutions.
